ABOUT
Alhaji Lamidi Olaegbe Atinsola Tatalo Alamu (known as the King of Sekere) was born into a music family at Ajalaruru compound of Opo-Yeosa, Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria. His parents were late Yesufu and Adepele Ajalaruru. Alamu was a renowned dundun and sekere musician.
EARLY LIFE
Alamu Atatalo was a pioneer of sekere, a type of Traditional Yoruba music. A native of Ibadan, he was popular in Yoruba land  throughout the 1950s and early 1960s. By the middle of the  1960s, however, his popularity began to wane when he was incriminated, in a criminal frame-up, by his detractors. As a result, he struggled relentlessly, for more than a decade, to clear his name. Ultimately, he bounced back and reclaimed his position as the “king of sekere” in the mid-70s by releasing several hit His version of sekere music and Alhaji Dauda Epo-Akara’s were music dominated the Ibadan party scenes until the advent of Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’s fuji Music.
CAREER
Alamu was a famous fuji musician during his heyday which spanned the 1950s and 1960s. He regularly featured alongside Alhaji Dauda Epo-Akara at parties in Ibadan, entertaining his audience. However, he took a hit in the early 1960s when he was framed for a crime. This led to him struggling to clear his name and career. The King of Sekere as he was called, returned in the mid-70s, releasing several hit singles from LP records. He was succeeded by Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde.
FAMILY
Alamu grew up in a Muslim home with his parents in his hometown of Ibadan.
PERSONAL LIFE
Alamu was a Muslim with wives and children.  He died on March 8th, 1985 after a brief illness.
ACHIEVEMENT
Alamu was the pioneer of sekere music and was dubbed the King of Sekere.
