How Sir Alex Ferguson offered to pay Man United player to retire

Who owns Manchester United? The Glaziers? Oh please. Alex Ferguson owns Manchester United and nothing runs by the club without him saying so.

The legendary manager showed up at the Red devils’ training ground today ahead of the meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo and the club’s hierarchy.

Initial reports stated some time ago that the Portugal captain would be returning to the club after the team’s tour in Asia to discuss with the club about his situation.

The crunch talks is believed to have brought Sir Alex Ferguson back to the United training complex at Carrington this morning.

The Scotsman made himself present as a showdown talks is believed to hold between Cristiano Ronaldo, his agent Jorge Mendes and the club.

Sir Alex as he famously called is believed to play a part in deciding whether the player stays or leaves and his presence is possibly to convince the 5 time golden ball winner to stay on at the club in the upcoming season.

While Jorge Mendes continued to push on a move away from Old Trafford for his client, the player was away from the team, nursing some ‘family issues’ while his teammates were out for pre-season.

Along with Sir Alex Ferguson, new Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag is set to be included in the talks as he wants to meet Ronaldo in person to decide whether there will be a compromise for Ronaldo to see out the 2022/23 season at Old Trafford.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona were reported to have all been presented with a chance to land the seasoned veteran but all three clubs turned down the opening.

The latest reports now include Atletico Madrid in the talks as Ronaldo’s preferred destination, although they must raise significant funds in order to make a play for the forward.

It remains to be seen if Sir Alex Ferguson will have same influence he did in persuading the player to Manchester United, a third time. But we’ll never bet on the Scot.
