Aleksandar Mitrovic apologizes for Condemning Arsenal’s goal

Arsenal aren’t ready to give up the top of the table after sitting on top of it since the season premier, and again, this weekend, they continued in fine form as they saw off Fulham in an eventual 2-1 victory.

Although it can be said the victory wasn’t without a fight as the West London side and neighbors to Chelsea raced into an early lead via an Aleksandar Mitrovic goal.

Of course, the North London side, learning from their mistakes last season, quickly turned the tides to earn a victory with a Martin Odegaard deflected strike first leveling the score line before Gabriel corrected his errors within the game by netting the winner.

The winner though was what Fulham striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic picked an issue with in the game as he called on the referee to look into it.

The Arsenal winner resulted in a VAR check as William Saliba, the defender who set up Gabriel for the winner, was adjudged to have handled the ball prior to the goal.

The VAR check didn’t stop the call from being awarded though, with Mitrovic afterwards apologizing after the match once he had seen the footage of the goal.

“I was arguing with the referee, but I just saw the goal. And yeah, it’s my mistake. It’s clearly a goal and the referee gave the goal. It’s the right decision,” he said.
