Former Governor Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura, has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for shielding Lagos, Abuja, and Kano states from Boko Haram attacks.

The Kano All Progressive Congress (APC) national chairman aspirant, admitted that Nigeria has been experiencing an insecurity surge when he was quoted during a broadcast interview saying there are local government areas in Nigeria ruled by Boko Haram.

He said: “Bomb were being detonated in Lagos, in Kano, in Abuja and everywhere. Look at the journey from then to now. Are we having those bombings? Is it by chance or by effort? This administration has done creditably well to ensure that our promises are delivered.

“It is not good to isolate issues. Look at what Boko Haram has made Nigeria before we came. Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, were all under the control of Boko Haram. In fact, it got to a point where certain local governments were for months under the administration of Boko Haram.”
