Akon and Deputy governor debate over ‘Jollof rice’
The very talented singer, Akon engaged in a comic argument with the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat over ‘Jollof rice’. Akon is currently in Nigeria for the Google For Nigeria event taking place in the country.
The Senegalese-born American singer while at the event got into a debate about the controversial Nigerian Jollof. The debate was about who has the best Jollof rice in Africa.
Akon defended his country of origin, saying: “Senegal Invented Jollof Rice.”
But Dr. Obafemi Hamzat replied: “I’m not talking about who actually Invented, I am saying Nigeria Jollof Is the Best.”
