AKA says he has outgrown his nickname
South African rapper, AKA, has graced the cover of the new issue of SA’s Hype magazine.
The issue aims to reflect on our “Bigger Than Hip Hop” spirit and represents how much hip hop culture has done not only for the artists themselves but those closest to them.
The cover of this issue is a picture of AKA and his daughter, Kairo Forbes, and hints at the growth AKA has gone through which is rather inspiring.
There are different growth stages in life, and it’s important that we grow accordingly and not remain stagnant. Like AKA has outgrown his nickname and wants to be known as the father, the businessman and the supermega.
AKA is launching Beam Digital with his business partners MiCore and Celebrity Services Africa this week, set to revolutionize the way in which artists and their fans engage through the application od innovative mobile technologies.
He says, “My greatest wish is for Beam Digital to empower talent to grow their brands by knowing their fans. By owning their data base, artists can engage more powerfully and directly with their followers and, by leveraging data-driven knowledge ahead of brand endorsements & agreements, they’ll become masters of their own destiny.”
