Ajuri Ngelale resigns from presidential roles due to health issues

Ajuri Ngelale has resigned from his role as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, effective immediately.

His resignation comes as a result of worsening medical conditions following consultations with his family.

In addition to stepping down from his advisory role, Ngelale has also resigned from his positions as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

He has communicated his decision to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Ngelale, born 13 November 1986, is a Nigerian broadcast journalist and politician.

He served as presidential spokesman under President Tinubu and was previously a senior special adviser on public affairs to President Muhammadu Buhari.

He was also a co-principal spokesperson for Tinubu’s successful 2023 presidential campaign and worked as a senior reporter and presenter at Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Channels Television.
