Mr. Arnold O. Ekpe served as the Group Chief Executive Officer at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated from 2005 to 2012. Previously, Mr. Ekpe worked in the oil and aluminum industries. He served as the Group Chief Executive Officer at the Ecobank Transnational Incorporated from 1996 to 2001.

He e was Partner with Africa Capital Alliance, the leading West African private equity fund. He served as the Chief Executive of Ecobank Group at Ecobank Nigeria Plc, (alternate name Ecobank Nigeria Limited) until December 2012. He was a Partner at African Capital Alliance. He joined United Bank for Africa in 2001, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer from 2002 to 2004. He served as Vice President and Head of Africa Trade and Corporate Finance for Sub-Sahara Africa for Citibank since 1990’s.

Mr. Ekype served as Non-Executive Director of Dorman Long Engineering Limited, UAC Nigeria plc, ADC Africa Development Corporationand Virgin Nigeria Airways. He has 30 years of African and international banking experience, including over 12 years of Chief Executive Officer experience with pan African banks and well versed in M&A, financing and capital structure management, broad financial technology and support systems experience. Mr. Ekpe holds a first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manchester University and an MBA from Manchester Business School respectively.
