AFCON Final: Anambra State prepares for a cracking finale
On the outside, it may seem like Nigerians have several reasons to pick issues with their country, but if the AFCON has shown the world anything, it’s that Nigerians can be united under the right circumstances.
Come rain, come sunshine, nothing unites Nigerians more than football and the AFCON final is sure ready to bring more Nigerians together again but this time, a South Eastern state of the country; Anambra State is doing its part in bringing more Nigerians together as the Super Eagles take on Cote D’Ivoire in a match of high stakes.
History will and is set to be made but emotions are sure to be rising high while the nerves remain cracking ahead of tonight’s cracker.
In an effort to foster community spirit and rally support for the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, ahead of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has authorized the establishment of a viewing center at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.
According to a statement released by Christian Aburime, the governor’s Press Secretary, on Saturday, the viewing center dubbed the “Solution Viewing Centre” will commence operations at 7 pm on Sunday evening.
The statement emphasized Governor Soludo’s eagerness to demonstrate solidarity with the Super Eagles and to encourage residents to actively support the team during the crucial match.
Notably, complimentary refreshments in the form of drinks and popcorn will be provided to viewers, enhancing the viewing experience for attendees. The choice of Alex Ekwueme Square as the venue for the viewing center was deliberate, attributed to its ample space to accommodate spectators.
Aburime highlighted additional attractions planned for the event, including a Disc Jockey (DJ) performance, guest appearances, and other entertainment offerings to complement the football spectacle.
