Ademola Lookman opens up on joining Atalanta

Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman had quite the successful spell at Leicester City last season, but for some reason the club chose not to retain his services with a buy out clause from parent club, RB Leipzig.

In that respect, the Nigerian winger finds himself another club in need of his services in the Italian Serie A with Atalanta.

The Serie A club announced the 24 year Old’s signing from his original club, RB Leipzig in a deal said to be worth €15m including add-ons last night.

And the Nigerian took on to his social media handle to express his delight with the transfer.

“Happy to be in my new home @Atalanta_BC,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.

The pacy winger joined RB Leipzig from Everton in 2019 for around €17m, but failed to get regular minutes at the German club.

Ademola Lookman was only able to see 24 match appearances at Leipzig while scoring 5 goals in all competitions and recording 4 assists.

Prior to switching allegiance to Nigeria, the player represented England at certain youth stages in his career.

Though he played 42 games for Leicester City while on loan at the Premier League club, he was at one point a highlight for the team as Leicester suffered a number of injuries to its front line last season.

Before being let go, he contributed 8 goals and 5 assists in his appearances.

Ademola Lookman also spent a loan spell at Fulham in the 2020/21 season contributing 8 goals as the club fought against relegation.
