Actors Cynthia Okereke, Clemson Cornel finally released kidnappers’ den

Nollywood actors Cynthia Okereke, and Clemson Cornel has finally been released by their abductors.

The report of their release was announced by the Actor Guild of Nigeria, AGN on Wednesday, August 3.

The two veteran actors who were abducted in Ozalla, Enugu State, as announced by the president of AGN, were released after the abductors were “touched by the spirit of God”.

Ejezie Rollas, the President of the association has earlier announced that members of its association raised N1.2 million for the release of the two Nollywood actors, but was mocked by the abductors who demanded $100,000 ransom for the two victims.

In a recent event, a statement signed by the Guild’s director of communication, Monalisa Chinda Coker, the AGN informed informed the public that the two actors were not harmed by their abductors.

The statement read in part, “This is to inform the public that the kidnapped actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, have been released, unhurt. The elated National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Rollas, announced their release by the abductors who were touched by spirit of God to set them free and unharmed.

The guild has arranged for medical checks and psychological support for the victims.

“On behalf of their families, the National President expressed our heartfelt appreciation to the Nollywood industry and Nigerians at large for the support and prayers during this trying period.

“He urged members to be security conscious on and off movie sets and always take precautionary measures on their security at all times.”
