Achievers University gives automatic employment to first class students
The Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, has given automatic employment to two students who graduated from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science.
As indicted by the institution, the two alumni who were the best scholars of the MLS department are Emmanuel Igwe and Faith Ademulegun.
Dr Bode Ayorinde, the Pro-chancellor and founder of the university announced this during the 9th induction /oath-taking ceremony of 65 medical laboratory scientists on campus of the university.
Ayorinde stated that the two students who obtained first class honours would be employed as graduate assistants in the institution.
He said, “The University will continue to encourage students who have carved an academic niche for themselves and we will also continue to provide the necessary infrastructure and equipment for our programmes.”
In addition, the pro-chancellor also revealed that a sum of N100m had been spent recently on nine laboratories for a medical laboratory science programme in the university.
Ayorinde admonished other students to allow integrity to be their watchword as they enter the labour market.
Dr Tosan Erhabor, The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria stated that the council would not relent towards guaranteeing quality service delivery in the health laboratory system in the nation.
He stated that this would go a long way to discourage medical tourism to other foreign nations.
Erhabor said, “We must find home-grown solutions to our needs if we are to change the narrative of poor health indices.
“All hands must be on deck and health professions, whatever their specialty, must learn to work together in the interest of the service users, eschewing bickering, rancour or unhealthy rivalry.”
