Abuja ECOWAS Secretariat goes up in flame

There was a fire outbreak at the Accounts and Finance department of the Economic Community of West African States Commission secretariat, Asokoro, Abuja, on Tuesday night.

It was learnt that the fire was put out by men of the Federal Fire Service shortly after.

Although the cause of the fire was not immediately known, it was gathered that fire fighters from the Federal Fire Service were immediately dispatched to the scene and were able to prevent it from spreading to other floors. Spokesman of the Service, Ugo Huan did not immediately respond to media enquiries to ascertain the extent of damage.

The FFS spokesperson, Ugo Huan, could not be reached on the extent of the damage.
