"Absolutely delighted" -- Sean Dyche trolls Chelsea defeat

Everton’s young talent Lewis Dobbin marked a significant moment in his career with a goal celebration that resonated authenticity and joy at Goodison Park, but it was Everton boss’s reaction to beating Chelsea that bears the highlight.

In Sunday’s crucial clash against Chelsea, Everton sought to distance themselves from the relegation zone. Abdoulaye Doucoure’s strike in the 54th minute provided the Toffees with the lead, and 20-year-old Dobbin sealed a vital 2-0 victory with his first Premier League goal.

Dobbin’s exuberant celebration included a sprint towards the touchline followed by a knee slide in front of the jubilant home crowd.

Commenting on Dobbin’s reaction post-match and beating Chelsea, Dyche expressed his delight, saying to Sky Sports, “Absolutely delighted. It was a tough game for him as a young player. His genuine reaction to scoring was so pleasing.”

Dyche further emphasized his appreciation for Dobbin’s celebration style, contrasting it with what he described as modern-day excessive displays.

“No silly dances or all this nonsense that everyone gets up to in my opinion now. A group of people working very hard for the result, he runs towards the corner, you watch the team, everyone runs over in a very authentic manner just to enjoy the moment,” Dyche remarked.

Reflecting on Everton’s performance, Dyche highlighted the team’s ability to secure victories through diverse means.

“The biggest thing for me is finding different ways to win matches. Today we have had to fight against a really good side,” Dyche told the BBC. He acknowledged the team’s consistent effort throughout the season, emphasizing the collective effort that led to securing the win.

Addressing the squad mentality, Dyche praised not just the starting XI but also highlighted the contributions of players outside the primary lineup. Everton is set to face Dyche’s former club, Burnley, next weekend at Turf Moor in their upcoming Premier League fixture.

The win against Chelsea serves as a morale boost for Everton, reaffirming their determination to climb the league table and maintain their positive momentum in the challenging Premier League campaign.
