Liverpool aren’t exactly the lucky club are they as injury hits the team while at pre-season training in Singapore.

After the Manchester United game on Tuesday and ahead of the next fixture against Crystal Palace, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has revealed in a recent press conference that two of the team’s players, Diogo Jota and Allison Becker have sustained injuries ahead of the next game.

Diogo Jota during the off season had sustained a hamstring injury while playing for Portugal in the UEFA Nations League fixture.

The injury saw the forward sit back the first fixture of the preseason game against bitter rivals, United.

But according to the manager, the injury returned while in training to make the forward a doubt against Crystal Palace and for the games coming.

For goal keeper, Allison Becker, the manager reveals the Brazilian felt something while doing the warning up after a training session.

These reports bring to mind the 2020/21 season where half of the Liverpool team had to deal with injuries at certain points of the season to halt the team’s progress.

And that season, it all began with a preseason injury with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.

“So, Diogo is unlucky. Diogo was not involved [against United] because of an injury he got at the end of his season,” Klopp said on Jota.

“He trained yesterday fully and got injured again, so that’s really not cool but we have to wait for the results. He had further assessment this morning so we have to see.”

On Allison he said:

“Ali was not 100 per cent, he finished the session earlier, was doing the warming up and felt something so now there we have to wait as well. I think pretty much all the others are fine, so that’s it.”
