“A Level we cannot accept” — Kyle Walker sends Arsenal a defiant message
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has taken to Instagram to address the recent confrontation with Arsenal’s set-piece coach, Nicolas Jover.
The incident unfolded following Arsenal’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, a match that saw Gabriel Martinelli score a late winner for the Gunners and emotions run high on both sides.
Sky Sports cameras captured the moment when Walker and his teammate Erling Haaland were separated by security personnel as they made their way toward the tunnel after the final whistle.
Initially, the nature of the altercation was unclear. However, subsequent footage aired on Super Sunday shed light on the incident.
In the footage, Walker can be seen squaring off with Nicolas Jover, who had previously worked with City. Haaland stepped in to support his teammate, leading to security staff intervening to prevent further escalation.
Following the incident, Walker took to Instagram to share his thoughts, although he did not directly address the altercation with Jover.
Instead, he focused on the team’s recent performance, saying,
“Back-to-back defeats are a level we cannot and will not accept.
“We have a period of time now to put things right and regroup and show everyone our true level. Thank you for your support today.”
City’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal, coupled with their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wolves the previous weekend, has seen them slip to third place in the Premier League standings just ahead of the international break.
