Nigerian Army refutes viral claims of poor feeding circulating the internet in a controversial video.

In a twist to a viral controversy, the Nigerian Army has firmly denied allegations that soldiers of the 159 Battalion in Kanama, Geidam Local Government, are being poorly fed.

Speaking on Thursday, Army spokesperson Major General Onyema Nwachukwu clarified that an investigation, led by the Commander of Sector 2 Operation HADIN KAI, revealed no evidence of substandard meals being served to the troops.

The investigation, ordered by Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, unearthed that the video, which sparked outrage on social media, was not created by the soldiers but by a police officer stationed with them. The Army spokesperson hinted at an ulterior motive behind the video’s creation, which is yet to be fully understood.

“The video was not a representation of the actual situation,” stated Nwachukwu. “The Nigerian Army prioritizes the welfare and well-being of its personnel and their families, ensuring they receive adequate support and motivation.
