Not many club legends can watch their club sink too far into shambles and refuse to speak earnestly about it like former Chelsea player, Frank Leboeuf has done.

The former Chelsea star delivered a scathing critique of his old club, declaring it a “disgrace” and casting doubt on their chances of ever reclaiming the Premier League title. Leboeuf’s harsh assessment follows a turbulent period for the Blues, who haven’t lifted the league trophy in seven years and recently finished sixth in the standings.

In a candid interview with Instant Casino, Leboeuf expressed his disappointment with the current state of the club, despite its billion-pound squad. He criticized the lack of leadership and reliable players, suggesting that new manager Enzo Maresca faces a daunting task in turning the team’s fortunes around.

“The club can do whatever they want with their money, but as a former player, it’s kind of a disgrace to see what we are seeing,” Leboeuf lamented. While he acknowledged the possibility of a cup victory, such as the FA Cup, he was unequivocal in his skepticism about Chelsea’s Premier League prospects: “No way.”

The Blues last night in their pre-season schedule took on Club America in a 3-0 win to kick-start their first win in the pre-season. However, prior to that, the West London side faced misfortunes against Wrexham and Celtic.

The premier league side in the last two seasons, endured some worst forms in recent years, with Chelsea finishing 12th in the 2022/23 campaign and managing to finish 6th in the 2023/24 campaign after some struggles. They however, still did not qualify for a European spot thanks to 8th place Manchester United beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
