Youth corps member renovates damaged classroom after first visit to PPA

A young Nigerian lady has gone down memory lane of how she helped, during her service year (NYSC), renovate a dilapidated classroom at her Place of Primary Assignment.

She narrated how she made everything possible in a video shared on her social media page. She also talked about what her motivation was in taking such a significant step.

Youth corps member renovates dilapidated classroom due to sleepless night after first visit to PPA

The young lady, who began her NYSC last year, 2023, claimed that she had countless sleepless nights right after she resumed her PPA and saw the state of the classroom she was told to teach.

Determined to make a difference, she resolved to renovate the classroom and repair the chairs.

The video includes a lengthy note that further elaborates on her experience:

“The truth is, going to NYSC last year was not an easy task for me, but deep down, I knew I wanted to do it, at least for my mother’s sake…I still cannot understand what mothers see in NYSC🤣.”

“I was posted to Madalla Secondary School in Suleja, where I teach SS1A Biology…my favorite subject😁.”

The moment I entered this class, I knew I had to do something about its condition. And guess what? I DID IT🥳 Thanks to my amazing friends and the quality Rotarians around me; you guys mean the world to me.x”

“Was it easy? NO.”

“Was it a challenge? YES.”

“Did I give up at some point? YES.”

“Did it take my time? YES.”

“BUT I DID IT ANYWAY!!!”

I had two goals in mind: The first was to create a conducive learning environment, and the second was to establish a mini-workshop to encourage the kids to take more accountability and responsibility for their actions.”

The truth is, nobody or government can save you unless you take responsibility for what you can do to help yourself.”

Dear friends, NYSC, Madalla community, the principal, my LGI (Local Government Inspector), my Matron, my students, and my beautiful self for making this possible. Also, thanks for your support, love, and kindness❤️.”

Her actions and the video she shared have garnered significant attention on social media, with many people flooding the comments section to express their thoughts.
