Transfer: Arsenal, Chelsea to come to blows for Man City star

After the successes of past transfers from Manchester City for both Arsenal and Chelsea, the two London siblings are set to come to the Etihad to poach yet another Pep Guardiola star this summer.

In a high-stakes transfer saga, Arsenal and Chelsea are locked in a fierce battle to secure the signature of Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez. According to The Athletic, the 24-year-old striker is eager to leave the Premier League champions in search of more playing time and a warmer climate than Manchester offers.

Manchester City, understanding Alvarez’s desire for more regular football, are open to his departure but have set a hefty price tag of £60 million plus £17 million in add-ons. While Atletico Madrid has shown interest, they are hesitant to meet City’s demands, leaving the door open for a domestic move.

Arsenal, under the management of Mikel Arteta, are keen to bolster their attacking options after finishing second in the Premier League last season. Alvarez’s versatility and goal-scoring prowess make him an ideal addition to the Gunners’ squad.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, preparing for Enzo Maresca’s debut season in charge, are also in the market for a top striker. The Blues see Alvarez as a perfect fit to spearhead their attack and compete at the highest level.
