Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is poised to revamp his squad ahead of the 2024/25 season with several high-profile transfers in the pipeline. The club has reportedly agreed to a £35 million deal for Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee, who is set to undergo a medical and sign a five-year contract with an additional year option.

United’s transfer strategy, spearheaded by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, focuses on strengthening key areas, including full-back, centre-back, central midfield, and striker positions.

Among the targets is Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt, who is eager to reunite with ten Hag. Bayern Munich has set a £42 million price tag for the 24-year-old, and negotiations are reportedly progressing positively.

In midfield, Manchester United has shown interest in PSG’s Manuel Ugarte. Both Ugarte and PSG are open to negotiations, suggesting a potential summer move for the Uruguayan international.

Additionally, Manchester United is eyeing a surprising loan deal for PSG’s Xavi Simons, with an obligation to buy for around £70 million. Simons has impressed for the Netherlands at Euro 2024, catching the attention of the Premier League giants.

Ten Hag’s coaching staff has also seen notable additions, with Rene Hake and former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy joining as assistant managers. Ten Hag expressed his excitement about the new hires, highlighting Van Nistelrooy’s character and experience as key assets to the team.
