Manchester United puts 3 top names on Transfer list

Manchester United appears poised for a shakeup ahead of the January transfer window as reports suggest that three prominent players could be on their way out of Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s tenure has been marred by both on and off-field struggles, with recent speculations hinting at discontent within the squad and a rocky start to the 2023/24 campaign.

The Red Devils’ recent 1-0 defeat to Newcastle added to their Premier League woes, marking their sixth loss in 14 matches this season.

Matters escalated further when several journalists were barred from Ten Hag‘s pre-match press conference before the Chelsea clash, allegedly due to reports indicating a rift within the dressing room, with claims suggesting a split in support for the manager.

In a remarkable turnaround, United delivered their standout performance of the season in a thrilling 2-1 victory over Chelsea, showcasing a remarkable 28 shots on goal.

Antony and Rasmus Hojlund particularly impressed, with Antony receiving accolades, notably an embrace from match-winner Scott McTominay at the game’s conclusion.

McTominay himself has experienced a resurgence at Old Trafford this season, defying expectations after being earmarked for a summer departure. He currently leads the team’s Premier League goal-scoring charts with five goals to his credit.

However, amidst the highs, the club seems ready to offload three key players in the upcoming transfer window.

According to The Independent, Manchester United is open to offers for Jadon Sancho, who has reportedly been estranged from the squad following a public disagreement over his training performances. Additionally, Raphael Varane and Casemiro, both acquisitions from Real Madrid in recent years, are said to be available for transfer.

Varane, a marquee signing, has found himself relegated down the defensive pecking order, behind the likes of Maguire, Lindelof, and Shaw. Meanwhile, Casemiro, who has struggled with injuries and made minimal appearances since October, is purportedly seeking new experiences at this stage of his career.

The departure of these high-earning players could potentially pave the way for Ten Hag to bring in fresh talent, with financial fair play regulations looming large over United’s transfer activities.

However, the team’s impressive display against Chelsea might slightly mitigate the immediate need for new signings, should they maintain such performance levels.
