"We are going to win the Premier League" -- Pep Guardiola brags

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has insisted that his team are still up for challenging the premier league despite the squad’s recent results.

Stating in his pre-match press conference ahead of the league game versus Aston Villa on Wednesday night, the former Barcelona boss addressed the feeling within the team.

“If you ask me today, my feeling is that we’re going to win the Premier League,” the Spaniard insists.

Guardiola goes on to stress on the league consecutive league games between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur that resulted in stalemates.

The former Bayern Munich boss asserted that;

“If we play at the levels that we showed against Liverpool and Tottenham, we’re going to do it again – knowing that it is not easy of course.”

Manchester City currently sit in 3rd place in the premier league table, 1 point behind Liverpool and 3 points behind league leaders, Arsenal after the Gunners won against last weekend opponents, Wolverhampton Wanderers while City drew against Tottenham Hotspur in a game now considered controversial.

The Etihad side so far have won the premier league in 3 consecutive seasons after challenging the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal in separate seasons.

However, the current season has both teams in the running and combining to pose a serious challenge to Manchester City’s aspirations.

14 games have been played so far and currently there stands no side with the clear advantage heading into the busy periods.

Three teams; Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Arsenal have both had chances to sit top of the league at certain stages of the competition, with Arsenal currently on top heading into match week 15.

Very few managers can brag about going to win the premier league after match week 14.

However, when it comes to a tactical genius like Pep Guardiola who has been at that stage and won it several times, bragging about winning it again is only him being humble.
