I spent everything — Kidnapper laments squandering N2 Million ransom share
A 28-year-old suspected kidnapper in Adamawa State, Haruna Musa, has expressed regret for squandering his share of a N2 million ransom obtained from kidnapping.
Musa, who hails from Farang in Fufore Local Government Area, admitted to newsmen on Thursday that he had spent all the money without investing in anything tangible.
Musa was among the nine suspects apprehended by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Headquarters in Yola and paraded before the press.
According to police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects were arrested by the command’s Crack Squad and will be further investigated before arraignment in court.
“I participated in one operation where my other colleagues and I abducted one Shuaibu of Malabu, but I didn’t kill anyone,” he said.
Commissioner of Police Afolabi Adeniyi ordered the investigation after the suspects were apprehended.
“They were apprehended by the police in collaboration with local hunters from Gombi LGA,” Nguroje said.
Musa’s admission of squandering his share of the ransom comes as a stark reminder of the negative effects of engaging in criminal activities like kidnapping, which have become a major security concern in Nigeria.
