Nigeria’s customer-friendly telecommunications company, 9mobile, has commenced National Identification Number, NIN, registration exercise in select customer centres in Lagos and Abuja.

The development goes along with the Federal Government’s approval allowing telecoms company the licence for NIN registration.

This is to reduce the pressure of large crowd turnout at the numerous enrollment centers of the Nigeria Identity Management Commission, NIMC.

Commenting on the development in a statement, the Chief Commercial Officer, 9mobile, Stjepan Udovicic, said the experience centres include 43, Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos; 31, Marina Road, Marina, Lagos and Royal Plaza, 23 Road by 402 junction, Festac Town, Lagos.

Others include 9mobile Regional Office, No 8 Kikuyi Close, off Aminu Kano, Wuse 2, Abuja and Plot 1774, Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.

He advised customers and intending enrollees to obey all recommended rules for curbing the spread of COVID-19, emphasising that strict compliance would be totally enforced at the customer service centres.

Udovicic guaranteed that the company was working on growing the NIN registration centres to make them available to more Nigerians soon.

In a related development, 9mobile has declared the launch of its 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

On the launch of the telco’s 4G LTE service in Ilorin, Udovicic, 9mobile’s Chief Commercial Officer, declared that 9mobile is “working hard to empower Nigerians with world-class data services and helping to close the digital divide.

“We are excited to add the historic city of Ilorin to the growing list of cities already enjoying our 4G LTE network.

“We are committed to delivering innovation and value while building world-class networks for our customers.”

While appealing to Ilorin residents to get on 9mobile to enjoy an unbeatable data experience, Udovicic guaranteed the network’s commitment to continuing to expand its 4G coverage to more cities nationwide.

“As a tech-driven company, 9mobile has always taken the lead to expand access to improved digital services, and we will continue to do so in more areas very soon.

“It is our priority to bring 4G services to as many Nigerian cities as possible, and do so as soon as possible,” he added.
