Folashade Sofola, a septuagenarian, has been arraigned before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba over an alleged forgery of a court order and theft of N6.480m, TopNaija reports.

Sofola was arraigned alongside five others, namely, Ime Udofia, Simon Jacob, Adeyemo Adefemi, Agboola Olusegun and Adejoke Fadina, on five counts bordering on conspiracy, conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, stealing and forgery, before Chief Magistrate Yewande Aje-Afuwa.

The prosecutor, Nosa Uhumuwango, told the court that the defendants and others now at large on February 15, 2016, around 12.46pm on Oyetubo Street, off Obafemi Awolowo way, Ikeja, Lagos, conspired among themselves to commit the alleged offences.

According to Uhumuwango, the defendants allegedly stole building materials valued at N3.5m and a cash sum of N2.8m, properties of one Comrade Nelson Elekima.

He told the court that the offences were contrary to sections 409, 185, 52, 166(d) and 363 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
