7-players to leave Manchester United this summer
Manchester United confirmed on Wednesday that seven players will leave the Premier League club at the end of their contracts. Among those departing are Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane, both of whom bid an emotional farewell to Old Trafford during the penultimate match of the season.
The club released its retained list, providing clarity on the futures of several players. Martial and Varane, both key figures during their time at Manchester United, headline the list of departures.
Joining them is academy graduate Brandon Williams, who spent the previous season on loan with Ipswich. Fellow academy products Charlie McNeill, Marcus Lawrence, and Kie Plumley are also set to exit the club.
Veteran midfielder Tom Huddlestone, who joined United in August 2022 as a player-coach for the U-21 side, will also be leaving. The 37-year-old’s contribution to the club’s development squad has been notable during his tenure.
Additionally, discussions are ongoing with Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton regarding potential new contracts, indicating that their futures at the club may still be determined.
