If we are not with others, we are texting, phoning, emailing but spending some time with yourself can reap enormous benefits.
Some of us tend to equate being alone by ourselves as a failure, of being sad and lonely. We also fear of what people will think of us. Most of us do not truly appreciate the importance of being alone until we start having responsibilities, kids and all the other commitments.

See a few reasons you should value your ‘me’ time;

  1. Inner Wisdom

You must have experienced hearing a voice that is inside you, telling you what to do. We say it is intuition, when we followed that voice’s instruction. That voice can only be heard when you are in a peaceful mood and alone. That voice needs your full attention and if you learn how to do this on a regular basis, you will see the benefits.

You can start by spending just twenty minutes alone, drinking your favorite tea. Learn to experience this moment to find that inner wisdom. It can also help to rejuvenate your soul and heal your body.

 

  1. To Find Your Inner Self

Do you want to know your inner self? Do you want to know your values and beliefs that you have discovered for yourself and not told by others? Spending time alone will help you find who you are, your life purpose, your goal and your visions. Finding your inner self does not happen within couple of days or months. It is a lifelong process. When you focus on spending time alone and finding your inner self, you may start to align your life with it. This is when you start to live a conscious life.

Spending more time alone will make you less dependent and reliant on others. You learn to do things yourself, learn to easily cope with life in ugly situations and learn to have faith in yourself. Spending time alone gives you space to daydream in quite solitude. It will let you contemplate your next move and dream of your future. Daydreaming is good for your mind. It lets you work-out your fantasy and make you feel better. Daydreaming is also associated with creativity. Studies have shown that the most creative moments are when daydreaming.

Alone by yourself help you to de-stress and unwind. It allows you to clear your mind and forget, momentarily all your family, work relatedissues. It allows you to ‘stop and breathe again’ and be at ease with yourself.

Do you always find it difficult to spare that extra hours and do things that you like? If you are surrounded with commitments for others, then this will have to be put on hold. Being alone gives you the space to do things that you like or do things with someone you like. You do not have to conform to others and be influenced by them. You have the opportunity to do things that you truly enjoy.

Spending time alone does not mean that you have to keep yourself busy with things that you have put off for a long time. This is the time to do things that you love. Trying something new will keep you from being bored. Some people need courage to try something new. Once you have summoned this courage, you will feel satisfied at this simple accomplishment.

It is essential to spend some time alone as it has many physical and psychological benefits. Forget for a moment what needs to be done or what is going on in other people’s life.
