6 Easy Ways You Can Earn N60k This Weekend

Published

on

How about making some cool cash, legitimately, without much stress this weekend? Irrespective of what you think, it is actually very possible. I want to show you 6 things you can do to make N60k in the next few days. How does that sound? OK, pay attention to this post.

I’m not going to waste any time so let’s get right to it. I have to say though that it took me a while to decide on writing this topic. I’m not a huge fan of making the quick buck, but these are legitimate businesses people carry out every day.

What I want to do is to bring these businesses to your attention and show you quicker, smarter ways you can do them. Are you ready? Come with me, let’s go make some money.

Here are 6 very unique ways you can make N60k this weekend

1. Import and sell hot items

Importation is no longer complicated. It used to be but not anymore. Just as you shop on Konga or Jumia, you can buy anything you want from Aliexpress (China) and collect your package here in Nigeria.

This will not be a tutorial on how to order from Aliexpress; I will do that at another time. The point with this post is to make you aware of the option you have to make money by importing and selling hot items.

The key is to buy items which can sell very fast. Items like power bank, jewelries, wristwatches, tablets and other accessories are always in hot demand; they will always sell so long as you can find the right audience.

Again, finding the right audience is not complicated. Apart from using your network of family and friends to market your items, you can simply list them on marketplaces like Konga and Jiji. You can also use social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

2. Become a real estate agent

Real estate is good business any day; a good real estate agent can always make a decent amount of money selling other people’s property. If you play your cards right, you can make over 50k this weekend. Pay attention.

These days, you don’t need an office to become a real estate agent. Social media makes everything easier and cheaper. You need to find 2 things:

  1. A property to sell, and
  2. A willing buyer to sell it to.

I’ll tell you how you can get both.

To find properties to sell, just take a stroll around your community and look for people who have houses to rent or land to sell. The best way to get this information is to act like you are looking for a property to buy/rent yourself.

You can also visit your state ministry of lands and housing, introduce yourself and ask them to let you know if they have any property waiting for buyers. Using these two methods, you will always get available property on sell.

Next thing is to negotiate your commission with the owner and then go find a buyer.

Here you can use the power of social media to your advantage. You can list the property on your social media channels and ask your friends to help you broadcast the message. Interested buyers will always reach out to you and you can make a decent commission.

You can also list the property on marketplaces like olx, jiji and jumia. All that remains is to put your marketing skills to work, make a sale and get your commission.

3. Sell a car

This one is pretty simple, too, although not so easy in execution. What you need to do is visit a local car dealer and offer to help sell some of their cars. They will most likely agree so long as you don’t take the car anywhere, but don’t worry, you won’t need to take the car anywhere.

You can also look for neighbors, friends or family who want to sell their cars. Just like the real estate example above, the idea is to leverage the power of the internet and get something done faster.

When you find a car to sell, take pictures of the car and get important information buyers may need, like transmission, model, first body, working condition, mileage, etc. Also make sure the car papers are in order. Finally, make sure you are not brokering a stolen car.

Now, you will list the car on online marketplaces like Olx and Jiji. You can also post the information on large forums like Nairaland (car talk section) and talk to auto bloggers to help you spread the word.

When buyers call, you arrange for an inspection and price negotiation. You can either negotiate a commission with the car owner or get a cap-price from them and include your own commission. Either way, you can make some money selling cars without owning one.

4. Rent a room

No, not your own room. If you have a spare guest room in your house, furnished within the borders of good taste, you can rent it out on the online hospitality marketplace, Airbnb.

Airbnb hosts make money the way hotels make money. Only difference is, as an Airbnb host you only list your room/flat/house and Airbnb does everything else.

So you are not responsible for advertising, rent collection, security checks or anything else. You just register your available space and go to sleep; Airbnb will send your money as and when due.

Instead of letting those rooms lie fallow, put them to good use by becoming an Airbnb host. Who knows the amount of money you are already missing out on.

5. Tutor kids over the weekend

Yes, you can host a weekend tutoring event for kids and make money. No, I don’t mean tutoring English, Mathematics or Basic Science. Although you can do that because it’s something very nice and useful but what I have in mind is something less common, more unique and more wow!

You can organize a weekend event teaching kids some useful skills like catering, coding/programming, leadership training, photography, Judo, games like Chess, Scrabble, Checkers, etc.

You don’t need to know these skills yourself, although it makes sense to practice what you preach. But for the sake of making money over the weekend, you don’t need to know any of the skills. What you need is to organize the tutoring event and get people who know the skills to teach the kids.

You do have to be very good with handling kids, though. Tutoring kids is not on the same level with tutoring adults. Also remember that the aim is to give the kids useful life skills, not just to make money. Make sure you do a good job.

6. Teach one killer class on skillsshare

As a teacher, on skillshare, you get paid for the number of minutes watched by Premium students in their classes each month. Teachers can earn $0.05 and $0.10 per minute-watched. This means that if your students watched 10K minutes of your class in the first month, you’d earn between $500 and $1,000. That would be just 10 minutes of watch time per student if you have 1,000 students watching your class. A lot of teachers can pay their rent with earnings from a single class.

Now, take action

These are simple ways to make some quick money this coming weekend. They may not be so easy the first time you try them but practice makes perfect, doesn’t it?
