5 Sweet Lessons From Meghan & Harry’s Love Story

Published

on

Now that the weekend is over, the Royal Wedding brouhaha is well and far behind us we can proceed to examine the smaller things about their love story.

Like the one or two lessons, we can learn from this seemingly unlikely couple.

We all know that for years prince Harry was somewhat the rebel child in comparison to his brother Prince Charles. With his British bad boy look and a full head of flaming red hair, it was hard for him to not be a little girls crush.

But as the years went on, we saw his brother marry a woman who surpassed the requirements of a royal bride and have children, yet Prince Harry remained single.

Until this weekend.

Many have remarked on things like her being originally from America, being biracial and even her mother’s nose stud to the Royal Wedding (we completely approve). But there are a few lessons to learn from their love story like these:

1. Don’t let a divorce stop you from finding the love of your life

Meghan Markle was in a relationship with an actor Trevor Engelson in 2004 which led to them getting married on September 10, 201. But barely two years later and the couple divorced in August 2013.

It’s no secret that women are frequently shamed for separating from their husbands or being divorced but that didn’t stop Meghan from trying once again. See? Divorce doesn’t mean you’ll never find the real love of your life.

2. There really is such thing as Prince Charming

And guess what? Sometimes he’s an actual prince like Prince Harry! Most of us grew up watching Disney movies and we all either wanted to be the prince if you were a boy or the princess if you were a girl. Most of us have grown up and long abandoned those fantasy’s but on Saturday, Meghan’ came true.

So maybe Disney movie writers weren’t lying?

3. Family drama can’t end a love story

From Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, being indecisive about whether he would turn up to the wedding to when he said he had had a heart attack… Or to Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha, continuously talking to the press about paparazzi staged photos and everything else in between.

It was pretty dramatic but Meghan and Harry didn’t let that stop them from going ahead to say I do.

4. Age is really just a number

It might not seem like a big deal in a society that is becoming more accepting of things that are a little different from the norm but for the Prince to do it? Well, that’s a little new. Prince Harry 3 years younger than his bride, Meghan.

But the three year age difference didn’t stop them from tying the know and we don’t see why it should stop you.

5. If your friends aren’t playing matchmaker then you need to ditch them

During their first joint interview after they announced their engagement, the couple revealed that a mutual friend introduced them both to each other and the rest they say, is history.

If your friends aren’t helping your love life flourish then I don’t know what you’re doing anymore.
