Most people think only christian dominated areas celebrates this season,some of the muslim dominated areas of the world also do, Yes! and they proudly showed it off with their beautifully erected christmas trees this year. Some cities do this yearly.
Here are some of those places that celebrated the season and unveiled christmas trees this year.
SRI LANKA
SRI Lanka unveiled a towering Christmas tree,73-meter (238-foot) artificial tree in capital Colombo claiming to have surpassed the world record by 18 meters (59 feet) despite constructions delays and a shorter-than-planned finished product. The tree costs $US80,000.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said the tree was built with donations from individuals and private firms.
Sri Lanka a multi religious nation with about 7.4% christian population is still grappling with issues regarding religion, caste and race.
BYBLOS, LEBANON
Byblos is often regarded as one of the oldest continously inhabitated cities in the world.
Each year Byblos erects a spectacular Christmas tree, often earning the city international attention for its holiday spirit.This year’s tree was included in the Huffington Post’s international list of “the most breathtaking, inspiring Christmas trees of 2016.”

In a Hotel in Abu Dhabi, the capital and the second most populous city of the United Arab Emirates, the largest of the UAE’s seven emirates, it is the fourth most expensive city for expatriate employees in the region and in 2014 was the 68th most expensive big city in the world, stands the most expensive christmas tree in the world.
Style Gallery’s owner Khalifa Khouri said that the Xmas tree, which was unveiled last Wednesday, has 181 precious diamonds, pearls, emeralds and sapphires on it, worth $11 million.
BAGHDAD, IRAQ
In the capital and largest city in Iraq, and the second largest in the Arab world after Cairo, a muslim man has spent about $24,ooo to build an artificial christmas tree , the tallest in Iraq as a show of solidarity with the christians, who have been severely persecuted and to other citizens in the war torn country.
