At 49, LL Cool J graduates from Harvard University

Hiphop legend, LL Cool J, has at the age of 49 just bagged a diploma from Harvard University. While there are so many remarkable things one can learn from this feat, the one that I find most striking is the age at which he did it.

LL Cool J has just proven that it’s not too late to start on your dreams. I have tried to imagine the HipHop star as a Nigerian (which I lowkey think he is), there are a million excuses he could have conjured; ‘I’m too old’, ‘I’m already made, I don’t really, truly need it’, or the worst excuse of them all, ‘what would people say?’

Really, there is no excuse big enough or significant enough to stop you from doing what you want to do–not even your age.

LL Cool J posted a photo of himself in a lecture hall on instagram and wrote he’d completed the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports program at Harvard Business School.

‘I Completed the Business of Entertainment media & sports program @harvardhbs it was a life-altering experience. Learning is cool,’ he wrote.

According to reports, the course teaches students how to launch and manage creative products and portfolios, according to the description on the Harvard website.

LL Cool J’s remarkable milestone comes shortly after Swizz Beatz graduated from the University’s business school with knowledge in entrepreneurship and managerial skills.

One more thing to learn from this is that education is important–and not just because you want to get a degree and make money. Both LL Cool J and Swizz Beatz are not poor. So, why do you think they went back to school?
