Because skin conditions are often connected to processes in your body, they may trigger or worsen some other health conditions you’re managing. These cases should not be ignored and their underlying causes should be resolved and treated as soon as possible. Here are some skin conditions that may indicate more serious health issues.
1. Eczema

Eczema is a chronic inflammatory condition which causes red, itchy patches of skin. eczema has been linked to joint problems, sleep issues, and other injuries. People who have had eczema in the past year are also more likely to experience a bone or joint injury. This is because eczema is often treated with oral steroids which may affect bone density. Constant itching can also keep you awake and make you unable to sleep well.

This is an autoimmune disorder characterised by cells multiplying too fast and forming scales an the surface of the skin. It has been linked to health issues like heart disease, poor blood pressure management and strokes. Psoriasis is often accompanied by arthritis. People with psoriasis are also often more likely to be regular smokers and consumers of alcohol

Vitiligo is an auto-immune disease which causes white spots to appear on the face and parts of the body. This skin condition can be triggered by stress. When it occurs, stress can also make it worse.

4. Stasis dermatitis

This disorder is marked by the darkening or discolouration of the skin on your legs and ankles. It is caused by swelling which blocks the flow of blood to the skin. It can be a symptom of diabetes and it’s effects on your circulatory system. Diabetes can also cause slow wound healing, itching, and diabetic dermopathy.
