According to Oyeyemi, other neighbours including the parents of the suspect woke up in the morning only to discover that the apartment of the deceased had been broken into.

Thereafter, the neighbours immediately invited the local vigilante to the scene, and while at the scene, Ikenna was seen coming down from the ceiling where he has been hiding after the shameful act.

During interrogation, Oyeyemi said the suspect confessed guilty to committing the crime.

Oyeyemi, however, explained that Ikenna’s parents who described his arrest as good radiance to bad rubbish said they have already given up on him as he happens to be the black sheep of the family.

They also appealed to authorities concerned to ensure that appropriate punishment is awarded to him.
