23-year old Channels reporter shot during shiite protest dies

Reports reaching us confirm the death of Precious Owolabi, the Channels TV reporter shot in the stomach during the Shiite protest yesterday. On July 22, 2019, the protest turned into a  violent clash between Shiite members and the Police in Abuja leaving many dead.

The deceased, said to be a corps member serving with Channels Television, died at the hospital he was rushed to, over the gunshot wound he sustained during the violent clash. He was 23 years old at the time of his death.

This is coming after the senior police officer in- charge of Operations at the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, DCP Umar, was also confirmed dead during the confrontation.
