#NigeriaElections2023: Rescheduled elections begin in Bayelsa

The rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections in Bayelsa State have finally commenced after a delay caused by the late arrival of electoral officers and voting materials.

The affected polling units in the four registration areas of the Yenagoa Local Government Area are currently undergoing simultaneous accreditation and voting amidst heavy security presence.

Although the elections were scheduled to start at 10 am on Sunday, they began at 11:50 am instead.

Voters have been seen lining up to cast their votes at several polling units including Fakulu Health Centre polling unit 19, Isiogu Town Square polling unit 17, Fakulubo Hall polling unit 14, Fakulu Primary School (East) polling unit 15, Ogriga Town Hall polling unit 18, and Ayemeze polling unit 004, where accreditation and balloting have already started.
