Tinubu Congratulates Tobi Amusan

The publisher of Daily Nigerian, Jaafar Jaafar, has named several individuals he claims are working against the presidential aspirations of Bola Tinubu, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State previously accused individuals in Aso Villa of opposing Tinubu’s candidacy for the 2023 presidential election.

Jaafar, in response to El-Rufai’s claims, took to Twitter to assert that Mamman Daura is not among those working against Tinubu. He went on to name individuals he says are supporting the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Jaafar stated that Mallam Mamman Daura, who is currently in London for health reasons, is not involved in the efforts against Tinubu. In fact, during a visit from Vice President Osinbajo in February 2022, Daura reminded him of an unwritten agreement to support Tinubu after President Buhari’s term.

The publisher claimed that President Buhari, Sani Zangon Daura, and Sabiu Tunde are the main forces working against Tinubu. Zangon Daura, a former minister and Arewa elder, is openly supporting Atiku, while Tunde is working covertly on behalf of Buhari.

Jaafar further alleged that Tunde influenced Buhari to provide military support to the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Emefiele, to avoid arrest by the Department of State Services.

The alleged redesign of Nigeria’s currency was politically motivated, according to Jaafar and was approved by the president without proper consultation.
