In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old girl named Adetutu Okibaloye was reportedly abducted from her home in the Imoru community of Ose Local Government Area in Ondo State.

According to sources, the young 19-year-old girl was abducted by unknown gunmen who stormed her residence.

The incident occurred when the bandits attempted to kidnap both Adetutu and her aunt. However, the aunt managed to escape from their clutches while Adetutu was abducted.

The community is now in a state of shock as residents are calling on the government to take swift action to secure the release of the victim.

“The aunt was shot as they were struggling to abduct the victim and her aunt.

 “The aunt has been taken to a hospital where she is currently receiving treatment, men of the Amotekun corps are already on the trail of the kidnappers,” the source said.

It was reported that the criminals had phoned the victim’s relatives and demanded N10 million in ransom.

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said that the incident was not officially reported to the police.

 “The issue at Imoru was not reported officially at the station but the DPO confirmed that the monarch of the town called him while at the collation centre that three people were abducted by unknown gunmen, while two escaped, the third person was whisked away,” she said.

In other news, the Federal Government will today arraign Mr. Tukur Mamu, a terrorist negotiator and a media aide to Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, on a 10-count charge bordering on terrorism financing among others.

Mamu, prosecuted by the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), will be arraigned before Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court, in Abuja.

Justice Nkeonye Maha had, on Sept. 13, 2022, given the Department of State Services (DSS) a go-ahead to detain the terrorists’ negotiator for 60 days.

This, according to the court, will enable DSS to conclude its investigation on Mamu, who led the negotiation with the terrorists for the release of the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers kidnapped in March 2022.

The charge was signed by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, Mr. M.B. Abubakar.
