A 19-year-old boy has been sentenced to a jail term of 4-months after pleading guilty to stealing Spaghetti and Noodles.

The 19-year-old, identified as Hillary Yunana has been sentenced to four-month imprisonment by an Abuja Upper Area Court in the Gwagwalada area council on Thursday on the count of burglary and theft.

The convict, who resides in Bassa village, along Airport Road, Abuja, pleaded guilty to the offense.

Judge Sani Umar, however, gave the convict an option to pay the sum of N10,000 for each of the charges, or serve a jail term of two months for each of them (four months in total).

He said the sentence would run concurrently and warned Yunana to desist from committing crimes in the future.

Umar also stated that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to anyone who wanted to tow the depraved path in the future.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Abdullahi Tanko, told the court that the convict broke into the shop of one Gift Ugochukwu, of the same address on March 4.

Tanko said the convict stole seven pieces of spaghetti, five pieces of noodles, and a cash sum of N10,000, all valued at N13,000, an offense that contravened sections 346 and 287 of the Penal Code.
