18-year-old girl reportedly raped and murdered in Taraba

Wassa Joel, an 18-year-old girl, was said to have been raped and killed by unknown assailants in Taraba State.

Reports coming in confirm that the incident occurred on Sunday morning, July 30, 2023, in Lankaviri community, Yorro Local Government Area of the state.

Details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, members of the community have taken to Facebook to demand justice.

According to one Moses Keke Kemuel, the Chief of the community, HRH Gana Mago, has called for calm following the gruesome murder.

Her friends have so far taken stormed social media to mourn her and also seek justice.
