109-Year-Old Woman Says Lots of Bacon Is the Key to a Long Life
A 101-year-old woman thanked chocolate for reaching her triple-digit birthday. This time, bacon’s become the proverbial fountain of youth. Ruth Benjamin of Marshall, Illinois, recently turned 109, and she’s got quite the envious diet.
In an interview with WGN, the lucky lady said she eats “potatoes some way, every day,” and also loves bacon and sauerkraut. She’s not alone in her appreciation for breakfast, either. Supercentenarian Susannah Mushatt Jones, once the world’s oldest person at 116 years-old, also swore by bacon. The Brooklyn resident ate four strips every morning, along with grits and eggs. Clearly these ladies are onto something.
