10,578 COVID-19 cases as Nigeria records 419 new cases
Nigeria recorded 419 new COVID-19 cases on Monday as the curve continues to rise despite efforts to flatten it.
The new cases were confirmed by the specialist agency, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Twitter.
This takes the country’s total infections to 10,578 out of which 3,122 have been discharged with 299 losing their lives.
Data from the NCDC showed that the cases were spread across 19 states and the FCT, with Lagos accounting for the highest number of infections for the day with 192 cases.
Lagos recorded 192 cases while Edo recorded 41, Rivers 33 and Kaduna 30. In Kwara.there were 23 new cases while Nasarawa had 18 and Borno 17. The FCT recorded 14 new cases, Oyo 10 and Katsina 7. Abia and Delta both recorded 5 new cases while Adamawa and Kano recorded 4 cases. Imo and Ondo recorded 3 cases while Benue, Bauchi and Ogun recorded 2 cases. Niger state recorded a single case.
