VIDEO: Lion attacks trainer during performance

A circus lion almost killed its trainer during a performance at the Buffalo Circus in Doullens, near Amiens, France on Sunday.

A video of the sad scene captured by a woman, Sevda Binici, in the audience showed the lion grappling with the trainer before being subdued, allowing the trainer to escape.

The video posted by Storyful, also showed the audience swiftly dispersing after the accident.

According to reports, the trainer, Steeve Loberot, was badly wounded in the head and throat, and transported by helicopter to a hospital in Amiens.

He was reportedly operated on for several hours.

Operators of the Buffalo Circus said Loberot was recovering.
Buffalo circus added on its facebook page that the erring beast would not be killed.
