United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme Specialist in Assosa, Ethiopia.

Responsibilities
The Programme Specialist will perform the following functions-
-Contribute towards the preparation of the Situation Analysis by compiling data, analyzing and evaluating information, and writing chapters of the Analysis.
-Design, prepares, implements, monitors and evaluates assigned programme including emergencies or specific project(s). Analyzes and evaluates data and takes corrective action when necessary, to meet programme/project objectives.
-Prepare the sectoral documents for the Country Programme Recommendation (CPR) and Plans of Action, Country Programme Summary Sheet, etc.
-Undertake field visits to monitor programmes, as well as conducts periodic programme reviews with government counterparts and other partners. Identifies necessary action for programme adjustments.
-Provide technical advice and assistance to government officials and other partners in the planning and management of programme/projects.
-Participate in the development of the workplan, and ensures compliance with specific assigned objectives.
-Provide guidance and support to staff under his/her supervision to manage and implement projects.

Requirements
Applicants must have-
-Advanced university degree in any of the following: Social Sciences, Public Administration, International Relations, Business Administration, Public Health, Education, or other fields related to the work of UNICEF.
-A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
-Minimum 5 years progressively responsible professional work experience in social development, project administration, monitoring and evaluation, some at the international level.
-Fluency in English (excellent written, spoken and comprehension skills) and Amharic required. Knowledge of other local languages an asset
