Something went wrong tonight – Jidenna on One Africa Music Fest

Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, a US-based Nigerian musician, has apologised to fans for being unable to perform at Saturday’s One Africa Music Fest held in London, UK.

As a result of the late management of time, the concert ended abruptly, making it impossible for The Chief, as he’s fondly called, to get on stage.

The singer took to Instagram to urge African event organisers to do better if they want to be taken seriously by the world.

He said: “This is Jidenna and I’m hanging out here in London outside of Wembley, outside of One Africa Fest. The show was sold out. It was an epic and historic occasion

“I want to apologise to the supporters that came out to support me and the others. I was not on the stage tonight not by my choice but apparently, we ran out of time

“I am not here to point fingers at One Africa or Paul but something went wrong tonight. If we believe it is our time, as Africans, then we have to be on time especially in a city where we have Big Ben overlooking it.

“We have to be on time, on our clock.”

Tiwa Savage and Davido were forced to end their sets abruptly as the event started an hour and a half beyond schedule.

The One Africa Music Fest was sold out with the 12,500 capacity venue filled to the brim but many fans felt let down by Nigerian artistes who mostly lip-synced.
