Your Mondays does not have to be boring and stressful. If you are anything like I used to be, the beginning of the weekend marked a dreadful Monday for me, I never looked forward to it until my orientation changed.

See a few tips to help you jump-start your week and make your mondays much more productive.

Make plans for the week in advance.

Plan all that you are going to do and do not say yes to anything that pops up outside of those plans. A lot of people let their schedules dictate them, instead of dictating their schedules. One big mistake people make in terms of time management is leaving huge windows of time open for other people to fill.

Get one thing done in the morning.

There is nothing more satisfying than feeling like you are already in the swing of things and the easiest way to trigger this feeling is to get something small on your list done. Maybe you should have sent an email someone back to someone for a while or a simple blog post is long overdue, go ahead and do just that.

Organize and prioritize.

Monday traffic jam, office drama, meetings, to-do-lists, emails etc. all of these can be overwhelming. Rather than trying to do everything on Monday, organize and prioritize. Sort your emails and projects by level of importance. Plan out what you can do the next day and for the rest of the week.  You can delegate stuff to others if you are in the capacity to or re-assign. This will increase the quality of your work.

Pick a goal for the week, and measure your success on that basis.

Pick one particular goal you ought to have accomplished by the end of the week, however something realistic. It does not really matter how small it is, as long as you get in the habit of choosing a primary goal for the week and making sure you can at least get that done. Once it becomes a habit, you can set bigger and more frequent weekly goals.

Set a particular time to respond to emails.

Your Monday morning will be so much more productive if you start your day by getting a difficult task done, instead of immediately falling victim to answering your inbox.

Take lunch breaks

We had given some tips on how to maximize your lunch breaks which is very critical to increase your productivity. It is not about grinding for hours till you clock off from, one of the best things you can do to make your Monday more effective is intentionally stepping away from what you’re working on to clear your head..

Plan something to look forward to.  Plan something fun for later in the week, it does not have to be on a Monday. It feels so nice having something exciting to look forward to outside of work. You deserve to feel happy and light every day including Mondays.
