Ritualist Den With Shallow Graves Uncovered By Police in Osun

The Osun state Police command have uncovered a ritualist den with shallow graves in Ilobu town of Osun state.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye, led a team of policemen to the town to locate the ritualist den which was sited inside a big house at Molete area of the town on Friday.

The commissioner of police revealed to reporters that the police acted on a tip off and they swooped on the den where two persons believed to be siblings were arrested.

He said that the leader of the syndicate was at large but said the police were on his trail and would not give up until he was arrested and everybody, who had connection with the den.

He said,

“We acted on a a reliable tip off which led to the arrest of two brothers of same parents while their kingpin and leader is still at large.

“Of particular interest was the discovery of a dungeon with path which connects one of the shrines to another. Several statues and hundreds of bottles of alcoholic drink were scattered around the shrine.

“Some shallow graves were also seen scattered around the ritualist den but we still investigating to be sure if  they are graves of some of  the victims of the fraudsters.”

The Commisioner of Police appealed to the people of the state to always give information that will assist them in eradicating crime within the state.

He said security of any state or nation could not be left in the hands of a few security men but added that everybody should be involved. He stated that policemen could not be everywhere at the same time to know everything going on.

He said that this was the reason the police needed the cooperation and the support of the people of the state while assuring them that any information given would be treated with utmost confidentiality.

Some residents of the town lauded the police for coming to their rescue by arresting some of the operators of the shrine, saying they knew that the suspected criminals carried out nefarious activities in the building but they were too afraid to confront them.
