Omawumi, Kiss Daniel Join Forces For Afrobeat-inspired ‘Me Ke’ | Listen Up!

Many refer to it as afropop but it has all the trappings of afrobeat; the chanted vocals, funky vibe, defiant lyrics, and familiar instruments.

Titled ‘Me Ke’, Omawumi’s collaboration with Kiss Daniel appears to be a bold return to the mainstream by the dynamic singer.

Declaring her indifference to opinions about her standing in the music industry, Omawumi sings: “Some people say she no dey reign again, same people go change their mouth again… …looking down on all the haters. Bye Felicia, I’m not your mate.”

Kiss Daniel’s crisp and complimentary contribution is a tad reminiscent of what a younger 2baba used to sound like on a conscious record.
