NSCDC Parades 4 Suspects For Robbery, Possession Of Illegal Arms in Plateau

The Plateau State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has paraded four suspects over possession of illegal arms and ammunition as well as for armed robbery.

Commandant of the Corps, Olasupo A. Solomon, who paraded the suspects in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, said criminals in the state have been sabotaging the efforts of the government in several ways and must be stopped in all possible ways.

Solomon said, “Abubakar Isah, 30, and his accomplice Timchang Selfa, 32, on their way from Zango village in Kanam LGA of Plateau State where they had gone to deliver guns to one Mallam Saidu of Zangi village.

“A passerby who noticed them invited the vigilante group in the area and the vigilante apprehended the suspects, after being attacked by angry mob and took them to the house of a traditional ruler. The traditional ruler in turn requested the NSCDS the case. The items recovered from them included a locally fabricated riffle, 6.8 mm life ammunition, charms and an old red coloured motorcycle with chassis number md 2alz6dw.

“Also, suspected armed robbers attacked a Chinese mining company Ltd in Wase LGA with sophisticated weapons and one Chinese national, Lil Kangze was shot in the leg. Upon investigation by our men, two suspects were arrested, Kattim Karnak and Selchang Zwalnan. Others are on the run and our personnel are on their trail. However, the items recovered from the suspects are a laptop, phone, power bank, torch, 11 ATM cards, ID cards of their victims, a diary and charms,” he said.
