The convoy of Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State, on Friday, rescued two injured pupils of the Army Day Secondary School, Minna, who were attacked by hoodlums.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the governor’s convoy was on its way to Abuja when the unfortunate incident was noticed.

“The pupils were on their way home after the school hours. Some hoodlums attacked and injured some of the pupils,” a member of the convoy told NAN.

The governor directed the ambulance in his convoy to rush one of the injured pupils, who was stabbed in the hand by the hoodlums, to IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna for treatment.

Bello was quoted as saying that, “I have given directives to the commissioner of police to ensure that all those responsible for the attacks on the pupils are arrested and prosecuted.

“We will continue to ensure that our people enjoy relative peace and arresting the hoodlums will serve as a deterrent to others with the same intentions.

“I am using this medium to call on parents to caution their children on the kind of peer group they associate with.’’

Bello said the state government would not allow people with criminal tendencies to disrupt the peace and stability in the state.
